The Project
Designing an e-commerce tool for internal salespeople to use while selling telecom products (internet, phone and cable) to customers over the phone.
Working with multiple teams to define the promotion feature logic and scope for each release iteration.
Creating flow diagrams, wireframes and high fidelity mock-ups to ensure all aspects of Promotions (UX and UI) are communicated to the development team.
Initial Challenge
The initial design task was to create a way for salespeople to view all promotions that they can use for a product.
Details included promotion name, expiration date, discount amount, and description
More Use Cases and Iterations
I became the main owner of this design feature, as we started working on more releases I designed additional functionality. This included:
Promotions that are assigned automatically
Replacing promotions
Promotions applied to multiple products
Seasonal promotions
Losing or gaining promotions when products are removed or replaced by another product
The business goal for promotions was to show the salespeople the discount potential and help them know what to sell to the customer for the best deal.
